We're particularly enjoying the Adonis-goes-deep bassline, becalmed chords, druggy acid lines and bongo-laden beats of opener "Multiverse" and the humid tropical house hustle of B-side opener "Kaitaia Fire" - deep and woozy, yet percussively adventurous - but the whole EP is superb. He begins with the bumpin' NJ beats, toasty electronic pianos and eyes-closed electronics of "From The Bottom", before emphasizing the soul on the rolling, Chez Damier style goodness of "If". Unlike that album, this Sha-Lor record Cenac recorded in collaboration with vocalists Sharmelle and Lorrie back in gained wider success, becoming a Summer Of Love staple.
The EP's final track, "Latenight Tale", boasts all manner of sun-kissed instrumentation and some wonderfully organic beats, making it sound like a tribute to the halcyon days of San Fran's legendary Naked Music label.

It's epic stuff, all told, but crucially also incredibly good. He's up to his old tricks this time round, too, wrapping sharp, ear-pleasing horns and jaunty jazz-funk samples around a bobbing deep house groove on "Give You All I Got", before brilliantly chopping and looping a slap-bass propelled boogie jam on "City Nights".
A-side "Shrunken Heads" is something of a percussive, off-kilter dancefloor beast, as the duo re-imagines Talking Heads classic "Once In A Lifetime" as a rolling, bruk-up floor-filler.
There are plenty of special guests, too, including Mano Le Tough, Sophia Kennedy, and many other relevant talents. Deep electro closing cut "Landing" is rather good, too.

The release is bookended by short but immersive ambient cuts, with the primary focus being four forthright minimal house burners that continue the fine tradition of SlapFunk as a whole. Since returning to action in after a four-year break, Michael James has been scarily prolific. From the driving and hypnotic dub of "January People" to the soulful and uplifting mood lighting of "All Right" and sexy, emotive late night groove "City To City" - nobody does it quite like Javonntte.

For the latest missive on his fast-rising Traxx Underground imprint, Samann has recruited Tieffrequent regular Siggatunez. It is, of course, more than up to scratch. Seriously, it's wonderfully evocative and emotion rich. Making his return after 15 long years, Steve O'Sullivan's re-energised Mosaic Records is the perfect place to get reacquainted with the chap.
Max Graef handles side A, first serving up a chugging, mind altering and heavily percussive "Bongo Mix" of "Soho Strut", before reaching for the sub-bass and fizzing, juke-tempo jazz rhythms on the bonkers but brilliant "Bass Mix" of the very same song. I Need Your Lovin' 12".
Featured on the EP are several impressive remixes too. Emotional Rescue have done the right thing and brought the vintage curio back to light, and what a return it is.
Kiddmisha leads in on the B side with the sprightly electro of "Healing" before Weakmassive rounds things off with the mellow acid of "Sjhue," which matches a nagging with sumptuous keys for a spine-tingling conclusion to a fantastic 12". The Yesterday's Tomorrow LP is said to see the Berlin based artist go back to his roots, revisiting his early influences such as hip-hop and jungle, mixed with the sample driven house he's become renowned for.
The Passion's Journey gram coloured vinyl afdica 12". The A1 track in particular champions that feeling with its gorgeous, swooning piano breakdown, while A2 nudges a little further into the gloaming as its more electronic sound palette hunkers down for the nightfall.
